Contrary to the museum's website or posted hours, this building is closed for the next two years. So keep that in mind before you run around the building in the pouring rain for 15 minutes trying to get in. Because you can't, and they literally can't be bothered to put up a sign saying that they are closed for two years.

BONUS: When I called to ask how to get in, the woman working there told me that while they didn't post a sign in front of the building saying they were closed, I should have known about it because it was "on the news."

Came for the amazing collection of Joaquin Sorrolla large scale canvases. It's like a holy experience to sit in front of these masterpieces. Stayed for the antiquities and the history and the great interpretive information. Don't miss Anna Hyatt Huntington's magnificent sculptures outside in the courtyard of this beautiful historic building. My favorite museum in NYC.
